BMN HIKE: Burke Mountain Traverse

For a number of years we’ve offered a summer trip to Burke Mountain’s heights. This year we are proposing to do a traverse. If trail work is completed and we can work out the logistics, we may attempt a traverse utilizing the Munro Lake Trail and the Widgeon Slough Forestry Camp as entry/exit points. Perhaps likelier, is a more southerly crossover with the Munro Lake Trail and Harper Road as entry/exit points. Either traverse has stunning views, beautiful forest, and gorgeous lakes. The former traverse covers approximately 16 km (10 mi) with a cumulative elevation gain of 1360 m (4460 ft). The latter traverse covers about 15 km (9.3 mi) with an elevation gain of 1000 m (3280 ft). Please contact Ian (imcart at telus dot net) for more info.
