This moderate to difficult hike is a must for keen hikers in the Tri-City area. We will travel on old logging roads through splendid second-growth forest and then on trails where we will experience the old growth of Burke Mountain. We will hear some of the history while enjoying the many waterfalls along the way. Once most of our elevation is gained, we will enter the “lake district,” where the many lakes beckon the hardy for a cool dip. Roundtrip distance is 20 km (12.4 mi) with an elevation gain of 890 m (2920 ft). For Pika Peak, add 3 km (1.9 mi) and 245 m (800 ft) of cumulative elevation gain. Meet at 8:00 am. Return 6:00 pm.
